My sketch does not do justice to the artistry and craftsmanship of this Samurai armor ‘sleeve’ but one must try @lacma on an inspiration seeking visit. An Amazing collection. Most armor is adorned with Sanskrit symbols adopted by Buddhism, symbols used as protection.
Use of interesting materials, weaving techniques and symbols drove every design; one helmet the shape of a high cresting wave common in the straights where the family resided. All of it awe inspiring.
